Youth Fishing Derby

To register, please follow the links provided, visit the Graham Mebane lake or Graham Recreation Center to register in person. Registration starts March 10th. Please pre-register by Wednesday, June 1st at 5pm. Limited day-of registration is available at 8:30am, but pre-registration is encouraged so that we can purchase adequate supplies for participants.
Kids ages 4-15 are invited to participate in a FREE Youth Fishing Derby!
The derby is held annually in June at the Graham Mebane Lake.
Prizes are given for Most Fish Caught, Prettiest Fish, Heaviest Fish, and more!
A free hot dog lunch will be served.
To pre-register, click the link below, or visit the Graham-Mebane Lake or Graham Recreation Center to fill out a registration form in person. You may also print out the registration form in the links section below and turn it in at Graham Recreation Center or Graham-Mebane Lake. Pre-registration is encouraged, but limited day-of registration is at 8:30am. Please pre-register
No fishing pole? No problem! We have several. Please notify us you’ll need one during registration.
Please note that all children need adult supervision during this program and that the bank fishing area will be closed to all anglers except those entered in the derby.
- GRPD will provide bait to be used during derby, only this bait may be used.
- Only one rod per youth participant.
- Reserved rods must be picked up at marina by 9:15am or they will be released. Please keep in mind that we have a very limited number of rods available to be loaned out.
- Parents may bait and cast for child, but child must do the rest.
