Term: 2011 – 2015
Jim Albright has been on the City Council since December 2003. He is a 1979 graduate of Graham High School and a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina (B.S. Industrial Relations). Albright currently is a Vocational Evaluator and Training Manager for OE Enterprises, Inc., a Community Rehabilitation Program for adults with disabilities. OE Enterprises has locations in Burlington, Yanceyville and Hillsborough.
Albright is a ‘square miler’ and has lived in Graham for most of his life. He is extremely interested in transportation issues in our community and serves as the Vice Chairman of the Transportation Advisory Committee as well as the Alamance County Transportation Authority. He would like to see Alamance County develop a fixed-route bus system to provide its citizens with greater access to our community, especially those individuals who face transportation barriers. Albright acknowledges that Alamance County is the only urban area in North Carolina without a fixed-route system and he believes our leaders and citizens can come together to make a bus system a reality.
Albright is very active in the First United Methodist Church in Graham, where he teaches elementary Sunday School and is on the Evangelism Committee. His father, the late James A. Albright, was on the Graham City Council from 1981-1989.
Albright enjoys playing games and sports with his youngest son, Elijah, a fifth grader at Burlington Christian Academy. He also loves going to see his oldest son, Jonathan, (a 2006 Graham High School graduate) play guitar and sing with Jonas Sees In Color and he enjoys writing, singing, photography and traveling as well.
