Alamance Creek Week (May 14 – 21, 2022) with Stormwater SMART teaches us about the creeks, streams, and rivers that connect our communities in Alamance County. It’s a weeklong series of activities across the county including a youth fishing program, searching for salamanders, litter clean-up events, seed plantings, creek walks, and more! Learn more about Alamance Creek Week activities at www.facebook.com/AlamanceCreekWeek/.

Trash. Yuck. Not something you want to see on your float at the lake. Let’s keep the Graham Recreation & Parks Graham-Mebane Lake beautiful and clean as we celebrate Alamance Creek Week! Make a difference for our waterways and the birds, fish, and wildlife that call Graham-Mebane Lake home. Trash (plastic containers, food wrappers, old fishing line, etc.) sometimes finds its way into the lake and along the shoreline, let’s all do our part to protect this picture-perfect scenery for all to enjoy. Come out to Graham-Mebane Lake for a Paddle Clean-Up! Bring your own kayak or use one of ours (boat reservations are limited to the first 10 requests total: single or tandem) and enjoy a morning on the water while also helping to clean and beautify the lake. Please pick up trash from inside your vessel or at the Lake’s Park & Marina, since the shoreline may be private property.

For more information or to register, please visit www.GrahamRecreationAndParks.com. Registration is open May 2 through May 20 or until full. Space is limited to 10 with their own kayaks and 10 borrowing a kayak: 20 kayaks total. Trash bags will be provided, and trash picker tools are limited.
