DESCRIPTION:City of Graham Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration \nDate: Sunday\, December 4\, 2022\nTime: 5:00pm – 7:30pm\, tree lighting ceremony begins at 6:30pm (fireworks will follow the lighting of the tree)\nFor All Ages\nCost: Free\nLocation: Graham’s City Hall • 201 South Main Street\, Graham\, NC 27253 \nJoin the City of Graham for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting tradition at City Hall\, including holiday fun\, shopping opportunities at Alamance Arts\, food trucks\, and a special visit from Santa. \nThis special tree that we light is a Fraser Fir\, a native evergreen tree that grows on moist\, cool slopes on top of the highest of the Appalachian Mountains in the Southeastern United States and can grow to 30 to 50 feet tall. It came to us from Alamance County Cooperative Extension in the fall of 2012. When this tree needed to be removed from their property\, the Cooperative Extension reached out to the City of Graham to be its new home. It was too large to dig up ourselves\, so we brought in a 90” tree spade on a truck to move it for us. Graham Walks is a 5-week\, self-motivating walking program designed to inspire you to stay active. We encourage participants to not only walk but to be active overall! Set a goal and track your activity on the Activity Tracker Log.\n\nFollowing the 5 weeks\, all participants that turn in their completed Activity Tracker Log by the deadline (11/17) will be eligible to receive a Graham Walks t-shirt\, as well as be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing (one per person).
