Graham Recreation & Parks wishes to continue to gain new interest in the program and encourages past participants to join us once again this Fall. Graham Walks is a 5-week\, self-motivating walking program designed to inspire you to stay active. We encourage participants to not only walk but to be active overall. DESCRIPTION:Graham Historical Cemetery Tour\nDate: Saturday\, October 14\, 2023\nTimes: 4:00pm – 6:00pm\nAges: high school/college/adult audience\nCost: Free\nLocation: Start/End at the Graham Recreation Center • 311 College Street\, Graham\, NC 27253\nThe Graham Historical Museum Advisory Board presents the Graham Historical Cemetery Tour featuring a bus and walking tour of Linwood Cemetery\, Providence Cemetery\, and Children’s Chapel United Church of Christ Cemetery\, led by Russell Compton\, Graham Historical Museum Board Member & Local Historian. This year’s theme will revolve around the Civil War era/involvement\, soldiers’ burial places\, enslaved peoples’ burials/markers\, and the location of the graves of local politicians of the period. Participants will meet at the Graham Recreation Center and be transported on the activity bus to the tour location and back to the center when completed. The walking tour will experience uneven\, natural surfaces\, as well as part of the tour on a bus. Please wear sturdy\, closed-toed shoes and bring water. Restrooms will be available at the Recreation Center only. Admission is free\, but seating is limited\, and registration is required.
