General Information

NEW 2020 Camp Dates: June 8 – August 14
Camp Hours: 7:00am – 5:30pm
For grades Kindergarten* through 7th
*your child must have completed Kindergarten by the start of summer camp to attend camp per NC Division of Child Development & Early Education regulations for School-Age Care for Seasonal Recreational Programs
To secure a space at camp: 50% deposit is due at registration to hold your child’s spot. Any past due balances must be paid before you can register. 2020 Summer Day Camp balance will be due on or before May 25, 2020.

About Summer Day Camp
Graham Recreation & Parks Department is proud to provide Summer Day Camp for your child(ren). We stress a safe, supervised, caring, and FUN atmosphere. All staff members are CPR and First-Aid certified and have completed a full day of counselor training. Our children are divided into age-appropriate groups where they play sports/games, create crafts, and take weekly trips.

Camp registration will open to the public on Monday, February 24 at 9:00am!

Parental Agreement

  • I understand that I must pay 50% of my child’s/children’s camp tuition in order for their spot to be saved
  • I understand that I cannot change the weeks that I registered my child for and am responsible to pay for the weeks that I registered my child/children for even if they do not attend (this is to ensure that Graham Recreation maximizes camp opportunities for other families and those on the waitlist)
  • Refunds – A 100% refund will be given for cancellations made two weeks prior to the first day of camp (May 26, 2020).  50% refund will be given for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the first day of camp.  No refund will be given for cancellations made on or after the first day of camp. (GRPD Fees, Charges and Rules Policy Manuel, Sec. 2-2; {10})
  • I understand that NO REFUNDS will be issued if my child(ren) are dismissed from camp.
  • I understand that the remainder of my child(ren’s) summer camp balance is due on the first day my child(ren) attend camp. Campers may be suspended if full payment has not been received by the third week of camp
  • I understand that group assignment requests cannot be honored and that children are grouped by age/grade for their safety.
  • Late Pick Up Fee – I understand that the program begins at 7:00am and ends at 5:30pm and I will be charged $5 per 10 minutes for late pick up of my child.
  • I agree to come inside and sign my child in/out of Summer Day Camp. No camper may leave the building without a parent/guardian.

Volunteering & Employment

Volunteers
Ages: Must be 14 years old on or before May 26, 2020
Volunteer Application: CLOSED
Requirements:
• Will need to be able to volunteer the majority of the 13 week summer camp
• Volunteers need to be passionate about being mentors and working with youth ages 5-12 years old
• Volunteers must be friendly and socially confident, able to communicate with campers and counselors, have a positive attitude every day and the ability to work in a team setting.

Camp Counselors
Ages: Must 15 years old on or before May 26, 2020
Employment Application: CLOSED
Requirements:
• Must be able to work the majority of the 13 week summer camp
• Camp Counselors must be able to plan, organize, and implement a daily schedule of activities for a group of youth ages 5-12 years old.
• Camp Counselors must maintain a positive attitude every day, provide exceptional customer service and must have reliable transportation.

Assistant Director
Age: Must be 21 years old
Employment Application: CLOSED
Requirements:
• Ideal candidate will be at least 21 years old with a degree in higher education preferred
• A valid North Carolina Class C Driver License required, CDL with Passenger endorsement preferred
• Will need to be able to work the majority of the 13 week summer camp
• Assist in pre-camp planning and training
• Assist in supervision, scheduling and evaluating a staff of 10-20 camp counselors and volunteers

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) Menus

2020 Tentative Dates: June 15 – August 7 (lunch only)
Sponsored by Alamance-Burlington School’s Child Nutrition

  • If child needs a lunch for the day, director must know no later than 8:45am each day to be included in daily lunch count.
  • 2020 Lunch Menu – two week rotating menu – items may change due to vendor/supplier’s availability (actual menu not available)
    *Medical Statement for Children with Special Nutritional Needs for SFSP Meals is required.
