All About Pumpkins Events – Winners Announced

The Downtown Graham Pumpkin Bash, a joint effort put on by the Graham Recreation and Parks & the Graham Police Department, has been cancelled for 2020 due to COVID-19. However, we still want our community to enjoy fall festivities and Halloween fun, so we have a few other opportunities for you:

Graham’s Great Pumpkin Pursuit – Scavenger Hunt
Dates: October 1 – 25
For All Ages
Cost: Free
Location: Throughout Graham, North Carolina
Join Graham Recreation & Parks, the City of Graham Police Department, and the Alamance County Public Libraries for Graham’s Great Pumpkin Pursuit! This Scavenger Hunt will walk you through the story of Smiley the Pumpkin around the City of Graham to search out hidden pumpkins. Each of the 10 pumpkins along the adventure will have a code word. Collect all 10 code words, submit them online, and be entered into a raffle for the one of several festive fall gift baskets with goodies from around Graham (one per person)! Get a bonus entry, if you take a picture along your journey and use #GrahamsGreatPumpkinPursuit on Instagram! All entries are due by midnight on Sunday, October 25. Winners will be announced on Facebook LIVE Monday, October 26 and will also be posted on our website.

While on the Scavenger Hunt, be sure to keep an eye out for the Monster Walk Zone (a “silly walk” zone) in Graham beginning October 16…and be sure to give your best impression of a monster walk!

The Pumpkin Pass-Along – an Online Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Dates: October 1 – 18
For All Ages
Cost: Free
Location: Online
Graham Recreation & Parks and the City of Graham Police Department present the Pumpkin Pass-Along, an online pumpkin decorating contest (one entry per person). It’s simple, choose a category, decorate a pumpkin, and submit a photo of your pumpkin online through our website.

Don’t have a pumpkin to decorate? That’s okay too, we will have a limited amount of small pumpkins you can pick up at no charge from the Graham Recreation Center (311 College Street, Graham, NC 27253) on Tuesday, October 6 from 4-6pm, while supplies last (one per person, must be present). A map of the drive-thru for entering and exiting the recreation center is available on our website.

All entries are due by midnight on Sunday, October 18. A jury will select a winner. Winners will be announced on Facebook LIVE Monday, October 26 and will also be posted on the website. Winners will receive a festive fall gift basket with goodies from around Graham.
