Did you know there is something NEW at South Graham Park? The Nature Trail at South Graham Park is now an ecoEXPLORE HotSpot with The North Carolina Arboretum! And other exciting news, the Alamance County Public Libraries is now an ecoEXPLORE LoanSpot where participants can borrow day packs filled with nature science equipment to help make observations…just need a library card!
To kick off these fun and engaging opportunities to get outdoors and begin exploring, Graham Recreation & Parks and the Alamance County Public Libraries are teaming up to meet you in the park to help get you started! There will also be special guests, including Stormwater SMART and the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, offering engaging nature activities. Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes, bring water, and hand sanitizer. Shoes may get wet and kids may get dirty…while having fun in nature! Come prepared to explore the outdoors!
What is an ecoEXPLORE HotSpot? “ecoEXPLORE (Experiences Promoting Learning Outdoors for Research and Education) is an incentive-based citizen science program for children in grades K-8. Developed by The North Carolina Arboretum, this innovative program combines science exploration with kid-friendly technology to foster a fun learning environment for children while encouraging them to explore the outdoors and participate in citizen science.”
