IMPORTANT NOTICE for all VISA/Mastercard Payments: Effective October 10, 2023, a convenience fee of 2.2% will be charged to all VISA/Mastercard transactions (VISA/Mastercard accepted). Cash and checks are accepted without this fee and can be made in person at the Graham Recreation Center (311 College Street, Graham, NC 27253). Volunteer Opportunities: Coaches are needed for the 2025-2026 Youth Basketball Season: 5U & 8U boys and 8U girls. Volunteer Coaches will be provided with all necessary equipment, including basketballs, bags, cones, and whistles. Practice plans/outlines will also be provided. If you wish to volunteer to coach, sign up through CommunityPass or contact the Athletic Supervisor at (336) 570-6718 or by email.

Registration: September 1 – October 26, 2025 (click here for step-by-step instructions on how to register)
If this is your child’s first time playing sports with us, please register online and also submit your child’s birth certificate. You can bring a copy to the Graham Recreation Center (311 College Street), email a copy to our Youth Athletics Supervisor, or submit it online.
Program Dates: November 3, 2025 – February 28, 2026
5U: January 5, 2026 – February 28, 2026
6U & Up: November 3, 2025 – February 28, 2026
Ages: 4 – 14 (boys); 4 – 13 (girls)
Age Groups: 5U (4-5), 6U (5-6), 8U (7-8), 10U (9-10), 12U (11-12), 13U (11-13), 14U (13-14)
5U & 6U are co-ed. Each age group above that will be split into boys & girls.
The age cut-off is December 1 of the season year.
Fee: $25 for City of Graham Residents, $40 for General Public
Please note, that children of head coaches will have their registration fee waived.

Description of League: Basketball is the most popular youth sport in America and is played by millions of young people in the United States and around the world. Playing basketball fosters the development of peer relationships, self-esteem, leadership qualities, and physical health.
The City of Graham Youth Basketball program aims to create a fun environment for coaches to teach the fundamentals of the game and for players to have a chance to learn, play and enjoy a positive basketball experience.
At the end of the season players should have increased knowledge of the rules of basketball as well as improved skills in the following areas:
- Dribbling
- Passing
- Shooting
- Defense
- Conditioning
- Teamwork
Equipment Provided: The City of Graham will provide basketballs for players’ practices and games. Players are permitted to bring their own basketballs to practice, but they must be indoor regulation balls and have the player’s name clearly written on the ball. The City of Graham will also provide jerseys.
Equipment Needed: Sneakers (basketball shoes) and proper basketball attire (i.e., t-shirt & gym shorts).

6U (Coed): Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays
8U (Boys and Girls): Monday, Wednesday, and Saturdays
10U (Boys and Girls): Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays
12U (Boys): Monday, Wednesday, and Saturdays
13U (Girls): Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays
14U (Boys): Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays
Practices: Practices will begin in early November at the Graham Recreation Center and Ray Street Gym.
Game Schedules: Game Schedules will be available in December and posted online once finalized.
