Description of League: Flag Football is one of the fastest-growing youth sports in the country. The sport offers a great opportunity for players to develop skills without the hard contact of traditional football. Flag Football is a partnership with Burlington Recreation & Parks.
The City of Graham Flag Football program will consist of 5 on 5 games for the younger age groups and 7 on 7 games for the older age groups. Participants will wear belts with flags attached, which the defensive team must remove from the ball carrier to end a down.
At the end of the season, players should have increased knowledge of the rules and Flag Football as well as improved skills in the following areas:
- The Center/QB Exchange
- The Proper Ready Stance
- The QB/RB Exchange (handoffs/pitches)
- Carrying the Football
- Throwing the Football
- Catching the Football
- Flag Pulling
- Defensive Stance
