About Graham Walks

Graham Walks began in 2006 with a grant from the Health and Wellness Trust Fund. Graham Recreation & Parks wishes to continue to gain new interest in the program and encourages past participants to join us once again this fall. Graham Walks is a 5-week, self-motivating walking program designed to inspire you to stay active. We encourage all participants to set their own goal for steps per day, rather it be 7,500 or 10,000. Set a goal, track your steps, complete the challenge, and be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawings! Prizes will be provided by community sponsors.

Graham Recreation & Parks is here to help you achieve your goal by meeting with you once a week on Wednesdays at Shamrock Nutrition from 9:00am – 2:00pm & 5:30pm – 7:00pm. Fun fitness swag will also be handed out to participants turning in their weekly Walking Logs, while supplies last. 

Registration is required. Must be an Alamance County resident.

How do you track your steps for your Walking Log?

Graham Recreation & Parks will provide FREE pedometers to registered participants (while supplies last) or you can use any fitness tracking device that you may already have (i.e. Fitbit, Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch, Garmin, etc.). Record your daily steps on the Walking Log for 5-weeks of the program.

Walking Logs will be kept confidential. Following the 5 weeks, all participants that turned in their completed Walking Logs, completing the program, will be eligible to receive a Graham Walks t-shirt and will be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing (one per person).

Turn in Your Walking Log

Each week you will be required to turn in the results of your daily steps to Graham Recreation & Parks by: (starts on a Wednesday and ends on the Tuesday of the following week)

  • In Person: Turning in the Walking Log paper form (download online or pick up at Shamrock Nutrition)
  • By Email:

Walking Logs must be kept up with by participant and turned in on or before Friday, October 23 to be eligible for a Graham Walks T-Shirt and Grand Prizes.

Grand Prize Drawings will be announced LIVE on the Graham Recreation & Parks Facebook page following the program (Date: Wednesday, November 4).

The program lasts for 5 weeks beginning on Wednesday, April 29 and ending on Wednesday, June 3.

Turn In Your Walking Log

Each week you will be required to turn in the results of your daily steps to Graham Recreation & Parks by: (starts on a Wednesday and ends on the Tuesday of the following week)

  • Turning in the Walking Log paper form (download online or pick up at Shamrock Nutrition – subject to change)
  • Emailing completed Walking Log to [email protected]
  • Or “Screen Capture” your own fitness tracking device’s weekly information and email the information to [email protected]

Walking Logs must be kept up with by participant and turned in on or before June 5 to be eligible for a Graham Walks T-Shirt and grand prizes. Walking Logs will be tracked by Graham Recreation & Parks and kept confidential. Following the 5 weeks, all participants that were able to record and turn in steps each day for 5 weeks will receive a Graham Walks T-Shirt.

Set A Goal, Complete the Challenge, Be Eligible for the Grand Prize Drawings

Walking Logs must be kept up with by participant. Walking Logs will be tracked by Graham Recreation & Parks and kept confidential. Following the 5 weeks, all participants that turned in their Walking Logs for the 5 weeks, completing the program, will be eligible to receive a Graham Walks T-Shirt and be entered into the grand prize drawing (one per person). All Walking Logs must be turned in on or before June 5. Grand prize drawings will be announced LIVE on the Graham Recreation & Parks Facebook page following the program (Date: Wednesday, June 17 at 2:30pm).
